>>49985447Right you are. Imagine that, but for kids running around at all hours of the night. The law is mostly in effect for two types of regions in the US: suburban areas full of busybody soccer moms who don't want Jimmy to get less than his doctor-recommended eight hours of sleep and crime infested shitholes who need to keep kids off the street so they don't go shooting up the town and stealing shit.
Also, you had an American History class? I wish our system gave at least that much of a shit about learning about other countries. Our history lessons are structured to more or less repeat the Colonial Settlement through WWII (sometimes the Cold War but never Vietnam) ad nauseum until we graduate.
I had a friend who got excited they finally got to take a world history class in high school and on the first day, the teacher asked everyone what regions and time periods they wanted to cover during the semester and he wrote 'anything but America'. The next day they started with the signing of the Declaration of Independence of the United States. I recall him saying that even when they did talk about other countries, it was only in the context of how something they did related to America.
You can sum up the average public-educated American's pre-university education about Australia as: it exists and weird animals live there.
