How is it to live in a country with less than 10 million inhabitants?

It sucks living in a 200 mil. people country. Only my city has more population than all nordic countries together.

I feel like a fucking nothing.

I think it matters more how dense the population is, rather than how large.

Does the population of the country matter, or the density? Brazil and Canada are similar in size, but not in population.

It's nice having a bunch of space. Lots of towns with really cheap land. Some even give you free plots of land if you'll build a house on it.

Almost too much space though. Often road networks only ether run north south or east west. There's valleys hundreds of kilometers long without anybody living in them, because they were too lazy to build a road over the mountains.

For the contrast with our language you can't really go anywhere abroad. I had problems ordering a coffee in Croatia the first time and it's kinda impossible to go for a longer conversation. ... and let's not talk how's like to be in Italy without knowing about Italian, it's hard to find people speaking English.

Basicly one's forced to learn foreign languages.

But this is actually a cool thing about Europe, you can drive few kilometers to another country and see different cultures. Here you can drive for days and you will see nothing much different.

Tho Slovenians always were kinda "out" from Yugo language and such but back then we all used alot of each other slangs/words and rest(mean on balkan)

Heh, I always manage to offend someone with that topic, but honestly the languages differ and it's not ''one just doesn't want to understand''. It was easier for older generations cause they were though Serbian in schools.

Yeah thats too.But we all basicly undestanded each other not all with you Slovenians but we usualy get to the point.Look at Tito i can bet that fella took words separately from each Yugo language and dialects lol tho most his blabing was typical for place from he was been but we all undestaned what he talked about.
Today words/dialects/slangs are alot diffrent for each ex Yugo contry and actualy more are made separately.While in Yugo slangs were heard at all republic was it Croatian or Serbian or Slovenian no matter dialect.At that time i could easy speak with Slovenian each one on his own and we would undestand each others.
