Why does the west hates Assad ? I really don't understand what happened in the last few years for everyone to hate him.
I remember that at Assad's father burial, the only western president to come was Jacques Chirac. And today our president get all red on TV when he hears of Assad : "H-he is a b-bad man !".

due to the inconsistency of the morality of current events vs the moral relativity of the past, brutal suppression in lebanon by syria and syrian friendly authorities is seen as peacekeeping by the powers that be rather than human rights issue

Geopolitics man, It's not about political convictions of the leader or what's best for his people. There's more money to make with him gone, it also quites down Iran-Syria-Hezbollah-Russia and makes it easier for a western hagemoney backed with sunni oil money.
