>>50046338>415 quid a month gets you a shit-tier houseIt's a pretty nice house, nicely furnished and there's nothing wrong with it at all. i've got a room that way bigger than i need (19.5m^2 according my landlord's website) and it's in the same area of Leeds were nearly all students life, 30 minutes walk to the city centre, £1 on the bus. It's not the nicest area but since there's always a shitload of students around it's pretty safe, even at night. Literally don't know anyone who's been mugged round here.
>Lel, no. No company offers internet that cheaply if you include line rental which is usually about 15 quid a monthI live in a house of 10, there's lots of people to split the bill
>Break down what you buy for £20 a week.Shop at Aldi. Don't eat luxuriously but still eat plenty of nutrious meals, I normally just cook chilli con carne or chicken curries in bulk with veg and it breaks down to like. Ham sandwiches or cous-cous type shit for lunch, weatabix knock-offs for breakfast, cheap crispys and that for snacks. Anyone who shops at ALDI will tell you how cheap it is. I occasionally get a take-away but i stick that in the £3k for luxuries.
>Council taxExempt cos student
>TransportLive in walking distance to uni, get driven up at the start of the year by my parents drive be back home. Getting to and from again at the end and start of first and second semester is probably two £80 costs, so an extra £160 a year. And before you go 'Waaaahhh, you don't pay anything when you're living at home', i multiplied my food, rent and utilities costs as if i stayed at uni.
>Mobile phone.Alright, i'll admit this is missing, this is something my dad didn't stop paying but he pays £10 a month for a rolling SIM-only contrat and i just use a cheap Nokia, don't really need a smart phone. Would still only be £120 a year if i paid it.
So that's only £280 of extra costs you've found, so that's my 'luxuries' budget down to like £2700 a year.
