actually grey areas aren't that bad and we can get relaxed. we don't have to hurt someones feelings too much, and grey zone helps us.
But first of all, I suggest you to learn that all people don't think same way as you. ofc, it's good to have your own opinion, but you can't always get agreement from others. but it doesn't mean people deny your personality.
Anonymous
>>50054410 I think you are right, but the reason you lie is because you don't want to hurt the other persons feelings.
This is a honorable reason to lie. It's more important for you for the other person to not lose face, then to tell the truth (telling the truth would be convenient for you, since you feel guilty for lying, but you give it up so that the other person does not feel down).
I understand it tbh
I think that having to lie to family members isn't optimal, if I can't tell them the truth they aren't family, are they?

Is it worth the effort, guys? I want to learn a language, and it turns out that just about everyone I know who speaks a language other than English (or is learning one) uses (or is learning) Japanese. How much work does one need to put in per day? Should I just dump my friends and relatives and find some that learn(t) French or German? Japanese is very hard for English speakers compared to other Indo-European languages, but our brains all run on the same firmware so you'll get it if you try.
If you're completely monolingual then I would suggest learning elementary Esperanto first. It is a trivial language to learn and will help your brain accustom itself to understanding foreign languages.

Where should I visit for my 3 weeks in Japan next September? I'm thinking 1 week Sendai, then 1 week Tokyo, then 1 week Osaka.
