I understand that Poles are angry about the Nordstream pipelines due to not being able to reduce their own costs by having transit fees imposed on Central/Western EU countries but this is good for Central/Western european countries as the gas price will be lower and those additional pipelines assure that gas delivery will continue in the case of one of the lines failing.

There should be a Nordstream 3 however, that is directly connected from Russia to the Netherland though. It would fit in our governments plans for an "energy/gas roundabout" role for the Netherlands in Western EU.

It was not in the process of breaking economic ties, only moving towards Europe. Those two things are not mutually exclusive. Russia moved in because they didn't like Ukraine's (an independent country) foreign policy.

If that is actualy the case, then why arent you starting to build new pipelines towards the Netherlands/Norway, build/modify ports with LNG installations so you can get gas that way from the USA/other countries and start Fracking?

That should surely be enough to reduce the dependency on Russian gas to a very large degree if not become independent of that entirely.

It's not fracking, our gas extraction is done mostly by conventional methods (we even have some gas platforms on baltic, if I'm correct). Fracking hype failed tremendously, last american companies ended their activity few months ago because there's not enough gas to justify extraction, but even with current methods (internal resources, reversed gas flow from western Europe and new LNG terminal) we are able to cover most of our demand.

Nordstream. A lot of Russian gas goes through poland to Germany. Poland is perpetually butthurt about Russia to the point of insanity, so Germany decided years ago to help Russia build a pipeline to Germany.
This is because Poland charges taxes on the goods and continually threatens to cut off the pipelines.

At least they aren't Ukraine where the Ukrainian government literally steals gas.

Crimea is very similar to Kosovo. The war in Kosovo was an Alabanian proxy war against Serbia. Albanian Kosovans got hurt, so did Serbians. It's not like Serbia said "fuck it let's kill a bunch of Kosovans!"

How is Crimea different? Crimea is Russian, was randomly handed over to Ukraine in 1954 because Kruschev wanted to buy a Politburo vote, and the Kiev government passed a law banning the Russian language in public areas and allowing the military to attack "terrorist" rebels in the South and East.

Before the direct pipelines, Eastern Europeans had always the blackmail lever in hand whenever they were butthurt at the Russians for whatever reason (they could simply act up like "if you don't sell us gas for 1/4 the regular price, we'll simply cut off the transit to the West and you lose even more!")
Plus they could set transit fees however they wanted because of monopoly

"I think the sovereign government should always be respected"

The UK government gave its permission for Scotland to get independent if they wanted to. Therefore it's consistent with my position. The sovereign government agreed to it.

The corporate and financial elites don't want/need just a few well-educated immigrants, but only low-lifes for wage dumping, goods consumption and property price increases.
