In the manuals and IaMP (Suika's dialogue) he says that Reimu never means anything other than what she says and is too honest, then comes WaHH where nearly every chapter is the opposite of that since it's about her tricking people with lies.
In the manuals he says that Reimu is carefree. She's the complete opposite of carefree, few characters are less carefree than her.
In SSiB and the beginning of WaHH, she summons and talks with gods casually, especially the latter where she's more experienced. Then comes a late WaHH chapter whe she has completely forgotten about it, and later in that chapter she also forgets that she's a shrine maiden like a ditz, you wouldn't think that this is the Reimu from EoSD.
In MoF it's shown that she doesn't think her opponents are evil and that she wants to be friends with youkai, every single piece of official Touhou material afterwards shot that shit to the ground, especially FS.
Actually in one WaHH chapter, ZUN somehow forgets about Kitsunerisa's crime in the very previous chapter and makes it seem like she's ''a youkai that Reimu caught for no reason'' as Mami says seeing as how everyone, even Reimu, act like that's the case.
It's really jarring. I'm having a hard time thinking if this has happened to any other character.
