>>14254446The best way is, forgive me, the one that you feel the most comfortable with. The japs do it by grinding, by studying kanji daily, repeating them over and over. I found that that method worked for me, as I just couldn't look at a kanji and really memorize it just by how It looked, way that is really popular on /djt/. I needed to write it down and see how It was actually composed. That took me to learn their onyomi and kunyomi, as well as the verb/words they were used in.
I took this long con like approach. I added to my knowledge four kanji a day. I indexed them in a notebook I custom made for the task, drew their stroke order, wrote down their on and kun, and added some words they were used in. After that I just grinded them, repeating them and their words by hand around 60 times. Working and reviewing each kanji for 5 days at most.
By this method, getting N1 took me exactly 3 years and 3 months. I'm sure that some people can do It much much quicker.
