>>27738350>Being anti-nuclear power plant in your back yard when there was a recent meltdown and one does not have to be built at all; makes you a brainwashed ignorant foolBut they DO need to be build, since the ONLY alternative is burning fossil fuels. The reactors that have gone critical were all of the old type, and only two ( Chernobyl, fukushima ) released any significant radioactive material.
When I say old type, I mean the type that require water, constantly, to cool them. Oh, thats stupid you say? Why would they build reactors with such a weakness? Well, because all the nuclear reactors built "back in the day", were basically copied versions of US Navy ship and submarine reactors. Nuclear reactors were originally built with the sole intention of powering warships and boomers.
Modern reactors ( aka ones designed later than the 60s and 70s, unlike chernobly, fukushima, 3 mile isle) are SO much safer, and the designs of future reactors promises them to be almost completely fail safe. Fail safe as in, if it fails, it fails to a safe mode. As it it cant blow up.
>yeah you have to be careful with coal, it will go critical at the drop of a hat!Coal releases tons, literally tons ( yes, literally) of radioactive material into the atmosphere. It is a real problem.
I wont call you stupid, but you are clearly uninformed. Read, my child, read about your glorious nuclear overloards.
