>>27747175>i feel like some sort of crazy alien outlier for not giving a shit about this nowMany other people around you felt just as indifferent so you are not alone. If it was just one or two people not caring then BC would not have turned to shit the way it did. It seems like a regional gun culture thing and that is how it got so out of hand.
The areas you shoot at have probably been a mess since before you were born.
The "why should i clean up if no one else will" mentality was the problem and that kind of thinking is cancerous.
Sometimes a hippie group will come out and cleanup and that just makes gun owners look bad. When the gun owners organize their own cleanup it actually means something.
If you do organize a local cleanup, be sure to invite the local media to come out, or at least take some pictures and submit them to the local paper. Show them what responsible gun owners look like so the people don't vote away your gun rights at their next opportunity.
Even without organizing just do your best to tidy up what you can. Other people will notice and maybe get guilted into helping as well. You don't need to get preachy about it, just lead by example and clean up what you can before you leave.
