Sup /k/omrades. I have a quick question and I'd like all of your opinions on the subject.
My Father refuses to carry anything smaller than .357. He even carries around his S&W Model 29 (.44) like he is dirty fucking harry.
Well, we got into a debate on if he should be carrying his .357 or .44. Basically the old bastard loves him some big shit and has 2 purple hearts from 'Nam and says: "9mm is for pussies I got hit by more 9mm than anybody." So his attitude is basically if it dosen't go straight through someone it isn't worth carrying.

So onto the actually question. Would it be safer to carry a .44 for the stopping power or carry a .357 for better follow up shots? Discuss.

So there is this guy in my area that is selling a Beretta 92 for almost free.

Now, the downside is that he says there is a "dent" in the chamber.

Besides this the pistol is apparantly in good shape.

In general, is this something that can be repaired by a gunsmith, or is this usually beyond all hope?

What does /k/ think of this shit? Is it really a viable self defense option or is it as useless as it looks?

planning on offing myself once some ammo gets shipped to me. I was practicing and trying to place the gun in my mouth, but there's no way I can fit inside.

This worries me because I don't know how accurate I'll be when aiming for the upper palate. If I shot the gun straight into my forehead, right into the frontal cortex, should that do the trick?
