He was awarded the Air Force Cross for his actions during the Battle of Shok Valley on 6 April 2008 in Nuristan Province, Afghanistan.[33] According to the citation, during the battle he directed Close air support and Airstrikes totalling 4,570 cannon rounds, nine Hellfire missiles, 162 rockets, a dozen 500-pound bombs and one 2,000-pound bomb.[34] As a result of the same battle ten U.S. Army soldiers, nine Special Forces and one Combat Cameraman, received the Silver Star"

I've been seriously considering joining the Army. The POM charge that was looming over my head is going to be expunged so that is good. But another concern is that along with having been diagnosed with ADHD (no longer on meds) is that i was kind of a bad kid in middle school and acted up a lot and go a lot of write ups. are they going to go back and look at all of these? Im worried my conduct issues might prevent me from joining the military?

How could one achieve the right to carry a concealed weapon in the most states possible? What states permits would you need for maximum coverage? Are there any guns that would comply with the laws of all the states? Do peaceable journey laws apply to people traveling in non-motorized vehicles, such as cyclers or hikers? Am I correct to assume CA and a lot of New England don't honor peaceable journey? And the biggest question is why isn't there just nationwide reciprocity? Why does Nevada not honor my Missouri resident permit, but if I got a Kansas non-resident permit they'd be fine with that? What's the point of that?

>>27738499 Anything with a 10 round magazine. I'd go .45 ACP since capacity is a moot point. Use Hornady Critical Duty due to the NJ hollowpoint ban.

>>27741345 >>27739501 Regarding the mag failing to fall, it might be a slightly deformed mag or a unusually thick parkerization or steel. If you have calipers measure it up and down comparing one of the working mags, maybe some polishing with steel wool and oil might smooth it up.

So i see so many thread about ww2 rifles but no one ever really mentions some enfields like the long branch (pic related) Hell even the garand gets its fair share of fame. Is there a reason for this? Unreliable? Whats your take on them /k/?

>>27739292 Assume whatever you want, the ammo is more expensive than nuggetfood and a lot of Enfields in the US are sporterized, driving down their availability in their original configuration, which most of us probably prefer now.

It's an excellent bolt action rifle, the trigger is decent, the No4Mk1/2 have excellent sights, they balance well and feel lighter then they are, and they are utterly sturdy .303 isn't terribly outclassed by it's contemporaries, and the action is fast, though not the strongest. Alot of enfields in the US are sporterized, and cheap Enfields in original issue condition are usually found in the areas surrounding Canada such as the North East, so they'll fetch a higher price at stores not in those areas. All this said it's probably the most effective bolt action service rifle ever issued

The only cheap gun that is a deal is the SKS. ...and maybe some .22s

Hey, /k/. I'm a finn who plans to go to the US (Washington to be exact) for a hunting trip with my uncle, who currently resides there, and I wish to bring my guns along. How many metric fucktons of paperwork would I need to fill to do that? After some googling, I've found out that I need to apply for a Alien Firearms Licence for the county I'm going to reside in, which I'm pretty sure I can file in the embassy. Also, I guess I'll have to apply for washington hunting licence. I already have a finnish hunting licence, but I that won't suffice. What other paperwork do I need to fill?I'm defineatly going to have to fill some ATF paperwork to bring my guns in temporarily, but I can't seem to find the exact forms. What I'm getting here is: How much paperworkwould I need to fill, theoretically. Picture unrelated.

Ammo is the real wallet killer. Save up and buy a good pistol the first time so that you don't regret it later. It's a one-time buy, unlike the boxes of ammo you'll blow through. If you really want to save cash, save it in your caliber selection--that is, pick something in .22lr or 9mm.

So /k/... if I wanted a semi auto detachable magazine fed rifle to last a life time in an intermediate cartridge... what should I get? I have an upper limit of about $1500. I have a particular soft spot AK pattern rifles and was considering an old Valmet or Polytech/Norinco. On the other hand I really prefer the European/Warsaw pact varieties and wouldn't be opposed to a Polish or Hungarian build. I'd probably go milled and under-folding if I went that way however a fixed stock rifle would be fine. My main concern is of course barrel life and in this instance, an AK that has the proper treated barrel pins and head-spacing so I don't have to worry about shit walking out ( I know a very rare almost non-issue, I'm just buying for life here). So what would you guys suggest?
Anonymous
Quoted By:
>>27741158 Well, minus the caveat about it being milled, the Polish builds from Atlantic seem like they're right up your alley. So far I've only heard good things about them.
