>>27733126>Rifle-length barrel with SBR overall length without the massive muzzle blast & flash>Longer, heavier barrel = longer sustained fire >Weight at your shoulder, making the rifle easier to keep in the ready position and for longer periods of time>Carbines are tiny as fuck (23"), godsend to tank and IFV crewsThere is only one legitimate criticism of bullpups (when it comes to military use), and that is the difficult of firing from the off-shoulder.
Now, it's not impossible to do (unless it's an L85, then you don't want to do it, less you break your front teeth), but it's not perfectly ideal.
Even then it's not that big of a deal, since it is still perfectly possible to do if the need arises.
Newer designs like the Kel-Tec remedy this by using bottom-ejection (which is stupidly simple, I can't believe no other designer figured it out until now).
Some will say shit like "triggers suck!" or "slower reloads!", but they're non-arguments. Trigger pull isn't great on bullpups, but trigger pull on ANY military firearm is going to suck compared to a 5lb civilian match AR-15 trigger.
We're all just spoiled on civilian products which are 10 times better than military-issue firearms.
Reloading is simply a case of training, in combat situations bullpups don't reload slower than conventional layouts.
Sorry, I was wrong, there IS a second legitimate argument against bullpups: Length-of-pull isn't adjustable. Then again, this isn't such a huge issue and can be fixed with stuff like spacers, or an adjustable butt-plate like that Croatian bullpup.
