There are a bunch of HK kit builders in the US, and there are a few that do excellent jobs, specifically IGF, BA, GhillieBear, and DJ Getz. Not everything is made by Century.

The "beats to death" thing about MP5/10's is bolt mass and buffer springs. There are two types available, light and heavy. Heavy is used unless the ammo is light enough to cause feed problems, then you would go to the light buffer spring. Properly maintained and tuned it will last just as long as an MP5/9mm.
