>>27672926>The Korean and the Chinese found out the hard way in the land war.During the Imjin War, the primary advantage of Japan was their pike & shot tactics, which Korea had absolutely no answer for (zero Musketry), while China, who had Muskets, had different tactics due to fighting the Mongols for quite some time (i.e. a more mobile tactic compared to the attritional one's of Japan)
Of the two, Koreans were fucked. China fared better by having something Nips didn't have: field artillery. Or artillery in general. Which often negated total battlefield advantage by Nip musketeers.
During the Second Siege of Pyongyang for example, the Chinese reinforcements couldn't wait for their Musketeers to come up from the rear so their Commander, Wu Weizhong, ordered a Charge. The Koreans said it would be suicide but Wu pointed out that he had cannons on a hill. The Nip Musketry couldve halted this infantry charge but they were receiving cover fire from Chink artillery so Chinese managed to close in.
