Did the USSR provide any back channel aide/supplies/training/funding to the Viet Cong during Vietnam like the US did in Afghanistan?

Alright lads calm down hes asking a question and is thirsty for knowledge not everyone knows absolutely everything that ever happened in the world ever like you lot seem to.

Also I think OP means for the duration instead of selling them arms at the onset which is a perfectly fine question to ask.

I'd be curious to know about any accounts of Russian special forces acting as "advisors" and camping out in the bush.

I do not thing that shipping what was then state of the art military hardware in into North Vietnam en mass counts as a back channel. It is about as up front as you can get. They even said that they were doing it.
