I've heard all the reasons why most of /k/ dislikes .40, and I generally tend to agree with that consensus... Haven't really seen any reason to use it over 9mm personally, and don't find it all that enjoyable to shoot.

That being said, I have a good bit of .40 ammo laying around from a used S&W 4013 I picked up on a whim. Turns out the pistol was an unreliable piece of shit, and I'll be offloading it soon, but that leaves the question of what to do with my remaining ammo.

Are there any guns out there you WOULD choose to take in .40 over another option? Or at least, are there any designs that you could say "If you're going to buy a .40, it should be this," to?

I like the idea of having something chambered in .40 in case supply of others dries up for whatever reason, or just for the sake of variety. Should I bother, and if so, what do I buy?
