Let's say The Zone exists, and it operates pretty much the way you expect it to. Further, for those who can't speak Russian/Ukrainian well, let's say the people there can speak decent English if needed.

If you were given the chance to go to The Zone, what would you bring with you?
What would be your end goal of going?

any 7.62 pattern rifle, Ammo would be plentiful,
Gorkas, Plate carriers, Food. water. lots of bags for artifact collecting, Gasmasks and all the sorts you would expect a zone operator to have. And hustler magazines and vodka for bartering/alone time

Most Loner STALKERs are criminals/destitute, with nowhere else to go. The thrillseekers are a minority iirc. They've got a lot more in common with dudes collecting and selling scrap metal from vacant buildings in Detroit than anybody else.

Outside of them, it's mostly people who are there to economically exploit or study the Zone.

The world outside the Zone seems to be pretty utopic, with technological and scientific advances from the Zone really improving life elsewhere in a lot of ways.
