It's not making my life revolve around something if it's something I throw in the trunk once and don't think about it again until I feel like taking it out to shoot or whatever.
You are comparing storing a rifle that I already have in a practical, reachable place to selling a practical vehicle for a less practical and extremely expensive vehicle
That would inconvenience me, and continue to do so with fuel and maintanence compared to a normal car or truck. That's a perfectly good reason to mark that as paranoid or overkill.
Then again? If a man of means bought one because he felt like it and the money and maintainance didn't bother him, I wouldn't fault him for it.
