I've also seen plenty of WASR owners who have excellent examples of the weapon and are very happy with their rifles. More often than not the people with the lemons will be more vocal than the silent, happy majority who are extremely pleased with their rifle.

Think about it, if you don't have a reason to complain, why would you speak up at all?

The complaints about the WASRs do not speak for the entirety of WASR rifles.

Plus, the rough edges are the precise reason I want an AK. It was never meant to look good; even a new one is ugly, but it's beautifully ugly. the wear and tear and rough edges tell me it's a rifle that just WORKS.

Bottom line, the C39 is exactly what you'd expect: a budget rifle that will go bang when you pull the trigger. If that's what someone wants, fine, but I'm in the camp of spending a couple extra months to save up and get a rifle that is A) much better in quality and B) much more authentic in terms of its design and construction that what Century is offering.

Plus if I can't stab someone while I shoot them, why even live?

So are ak's actually easier to produce? Seems like a lot of manufacturers fuck it up. Like a shitton of AR companies make competent ars. Even poorfag shit like dpms don't have issues as major as canting or wrong size mag wells.

I'm assuming ak is easier/cheaper to machine/stamp but is harder to assemble, whereas the AR has both easy from a production standpoint?

AKs are easier to produce logistically, but easier to fuck up because you need a competent person to rivet the receiver straight and all that shit. It's more "handbuild" than an AR which is mostly CNC'd reciever and basic assembly.

This, M16's, and by extension AR's, were adopted with the mindset of many subcontractors producing parts and helping the big firms with orders.
These subcontractors kept the .mil supplied with parts and helped fill foreign orders for M-16's.

The idea was de-centralized production is case of war.

Ak's otoh - they made em fast and they stacked em deep, but it's harder for a garage shop to assemble
