F-16s can use those to deny SAM operators the ability to fire on them or kill them. Hell, when an A-10 is anywhere near an area that has any form of SAM systems F-16s with HARMs are in the air with them. While your "luw and sluw" A-10 is desperately trying to find cover to avoid getting the SAM operator getting a track on him, the F-16 driver is designating it on his HAD, and calling magnum. But by all means point out how a single A-10 flight is going to fare better than a single F-16 flight in this scenario you're performing mental gymnastic for.
