I own several long guns but no pistols.

I'd like to buy my first pistol.

My state is shall-issue for CPL.

What pistol should I get?

Get whatever pistol interests you the most/suits your needs. For home defense, look into a 1911.

OP here.

I don't think either of those are suitable for CCW/CPL carry.

I'd prefer something I could actually carry concealed.

They are outdated but the trigger is nice and 45 is a good round. Not a terrible HD gun. This is coming from someone who carries a Glock.

Glock 19, M&P something (9c perhaps), sig (if you want to drop stupid amounts of money).

I carried a 1911, then a revolver, a beretta, then settled with glock. they might not agree with you but their worth a try, cant beat the reliability.

sig p320 the trigger group is the "gun" so you can have the different frames/slides/barrels shipped to your door allowing you to swap it around based on what your clothing can conceal
