M16 trigger

No.27684584 ViewReplyReportDelete
Sup /k/ last year My GF came by my place for the first time. She recently finished basic and was in the reserves. I show her my M4 style AR15, I open the case and her eyes light up and a large grin emerges from her lips. Soon after she picks the rifle up she notices that the safety selector is on semi, The rifle was unloaded and was not cocked. She begins to patronize me for not leaving my weapon on safe

>Why is this weapon not on safe! Muh drill sergeants would not be happy with you *she said jokingly

I attempt to explain to her that the weapon needs to be charged as she repeatedly fiddles with the safety to no avail

>Uh what the...??

Finally she takes my advise charges the rifle via charging handle and like magic an audible click is heard as the selector is switched to safe.

>Huh my M16 was different she says confusedly

Not going to lie but I found the situation to be adorable MFW

Now I never handled a FA or burst M16... but I'm pretty sure that the safe on cocking feature is found there too, or were soldiers trained to never decock or dry fire their rifles and to store them cocked and on safe at all times?
