there is literally no reason why we shouldn't have switched to caseless long ago.*

*except for all the other reasons that the semi-sentient meta-organisms we call 'states' and 'corporations' suppress individual capability of their constituent cells - ie. fighting 'cancer', which is to say, homo sapiens sapiens (as opposed to plain 'homo sapiens' - 'wise apes' vs 'the wise apes wisdom').

Its a neat thing but I want interchangeable and reliable ammo. Caseless hates moisture.

and that they overheat much faster, since brass acts wonderfully as a heat sink.

caseless has a lot going for it, but it also has a lot going against it.
