Does anybody have anymore stories of people that kept fighting even when ridiculously injured and / or incredibly outnumbered?

Heres the only one i can think of right now

>30 year old dentist on a pacific island during the last years of ww2
> patching up people in a tent as bullets wized through and naval artillery detonated nearby
> Japs know that this island will give america the abillity to bomb japan
>They will fight till the end to protect their country for as long as they can
>As food runs out and ammo runs out, the japanese charge
>an almost endless wave of enemies a mile wide came charging out through the brush
>The japs finally reach the american positions after taking heavy losses, but they have just made their biggest mistake, fucking with the dentist
