Brits also use them in some roles.

Our vehicle drivers used to use them instead of the monocular HMNVS and pic related seems to show Pathfinder use them as well

Pathfinder Group - recruits from all of 16 Air Assault Brigade so there's a bit of a mix of Paras and Engineers and stuff

They get some of the gear that UKSF have. Like L119A1s, and Ops Core helmets for freefall jumps

Pics are from training the Pathfinders did with the American 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne), while 16AAB were on in the USA.

So there are a couple of American instructors in the pictures too.

Yep. you basically grab two of them, one for each hand, and move your arms in some sort of pattern, whipping the robe.

Its fucking tense especially with heavy ropes over longer periods of time. But its fantastic training to keep your arms steady.
