>>27691352My best guess is that they're looking into different ways of bringing down the cost per a unit.
Everybody knows that there's going to be another war.
The Military knows it, from the highest to boot because the top brass has been tight lipped and quite stupid in their attempts to hide this, manufacturers know this, LSAT 762 project gets okayed, new pistol, hollow points, National guard across the country gets new gear and shinny new artillery, Colt gets part of the pie with the M4 contract along with FN and so forth, China's been dicking around in the pacific ocean, pissing off everybody, the Nips now have the ability to do offensive opperations in the theater of war when it comes to special forces operations with Onee-Chan America's approval, Slav bloc has been gearing up, crunching out armor, weapons and what not, stockpiling, among the dozen or so other signs.
SOCOM fucking loves the 16 and 17 and for good reason. If war does break out, SOCOM is going to expand quite a bit. If FN is able to bring down the PPR in manufacturing costs on the upper alone, SOCOM will armor up, especially if by the time the LSAT project finishes dicking around with the new telescoped ammunition. If the telescoped 762 turns out to be the same size as regular 556, guess what we're going to have flooding the market?
