With as much QL as the US produced and as much napalm and AO the USAF had dumped into the bloody jungle: why didn't the Americans extensively employ VX in Vietnam?

Because chemical defoliants and flame weapons are not in the same class as nerve/blood/blister chemical weapons and their use was strictly controlled by international agreement.

If the US/South Vietnamese had used those weapons the Russians and Chinese would have probably provided the same to the North Vietnamese.
