Where are some good, trustworthy sites to buy guns online?

I'm looking to purchase my first firearm.
Anything someone should know about it? Any processes after buying?

I'm legal to purchase and own firearms in my state (RI) I just don't feel like trekking to a gun store.

Well too bad.
In order to buy a gun online, you have to have the gun shipped to an FFL holder. You cannot have a gun shipped to you unless you have an FFL.

Usually an FFL is a gun store. Head on down, take a look around, and ask them how much a transfer is.

if you get a C&R licence you can have guns of a certain age shipped right to your door, i dont really know more about it though

$30 license, send in application forms to the ATF and head local LEO, receive license in 6-8 weeks good for three years. Guns have to be older than 50 years, with certain exceptions that we are getting boned over. The milsurp market has kind of gone to shit though.

Yeah, you are better off finding a local FFL that will do transfers for you for $15-$25, and shopping from J&G Sales, or a similar outfit. Prices are good online, but the restrictions and not being able to inspect it before shipping are hassles.

Since it's a pawn shop and not a gun shop they are a bit less likely to go shooting YOUR fucking gun before you get there to pick it up since they'll need to take a field trip.

Bought nearly every one of my funs on gunbroker.com.

It has worked great each time, any problem that has occurred has been of my own making.

Small crap though, where I overlooked condition or shipping rates stated. Like I said, on me.

Like with Ebay, I stick to sellers with a lot of good transaction reviews.

Gunbroker has some sort of service (free) to find local FFLs to do the background check for you. Finds nearest, what cost, and reviews on each FFL guy.

Don't what Rhode Island is like, but once I found a guy a few streets over that did the background check from his home while he showed me his safe(s) full of his funs.

When I have the money to buy again, probably do GB since I haven't been disappointed so far.
