>>27692843So the reason why i am skeptical that its a NM rifle is as follows
1 its wearing a 7.62 nato barrel. This would have been done after the gun would have been a NM rifle and those usually remained intact. Unless its a USAF/USMC nm rifle in 7.62 natowhich there were a FEW of.
2 it does not have the right drawing number / heat lot for the receiver for a NM type 1.
It could however have been one of the NM type 2's that were rebuilt.
3 that spacing block looks pretty new as if it was not originally with the rifle
I would spend the 25$ to see if the CMP sold this rifle. You will probably end up finding that this was sold as a barreled receiver of which the CMP sold many 7.62's. Someone may have just wanted to have a NM gun that they built up from parts. More pictures of the rest of the metal components will help.
In any case in its current config its not a NM rifle.
There were 7.62 NM rifles but they were USAF and USMC rifles.
as again! More pics!
