>>27693121I'm not sure how common they are nowadays, but they're far from useless. Ground-attack avionics suites carry systems to aid in things like dive-bombing and toss-bombing, so as long as your intelligence is accurate you can get pretty good coverage of the target area.
Best example off the top of my head is South Africa in the Border War. Even though they almost exclusively threw unguided bombs in toss-bombing patterns (by the end of the war at least), they were doing quite a bit of damage.
