In a state where there are Shall Issue permits, do you think that these permits are logical and with the best intentions of the state as a formality? Or do you believe it can pave the way for further restrictions on firearms.

I think that shall issue permits CAN be a mere formality by the state to appease gun grabbers while allowing the majority to practice their rights if they so choose. However, the moment they become expensive enough or time consuming enough to be a burden on the individual, or to make it more difficult for any person who is otherwise legally able to exercise their rights, they are as bad as any other overbearing law.

Look at Hawaii.

They have a "may issue" permit.

The last person to get a CCW permit was the son of a politician 2 decades ago.

That is why you need shall issue, so they can't play games.
