If someone i know where to happen to buy a gun on which they thought was a semi auto gun but seems to be a full auto after bringing it home and looking into it seeing it was made in Germany in 1943 with a firing pin working action and clear barrel. It is not registered with the ATF. The person also lives in a non NFA State. What should the person Do? And what are the chances of this firearm being converted and how could they tell. Also would this firearm be a SBR. Pic related.

How would you go about finding and focusing on these people when your budget for investigating such things is limited?

If there ever is going to be a gun grab, it's going to be precise and targeted there might be some false positives but computer programs are getting better and better at mapping human behavior.

It's not paranoia, or tin-hatting. It just makes sense. The government as a system can only survive if it maintains a monopoly on force, and in this age, information. The government is only doing what is in its best interest. I would do the same thing if I was charge.

Oh it can totes be done.
A while back, an importer had brought in a bunch of PPS-43 pistols. They were original open-bolt automatics which had been rebuilt into hammer fired, closed bolt semi-autos with the stock welded shut, to render them pistols.

They worked decently too, some only having occasional issues with light primer strikes. They swapped out the bolts and basically built an AK style FCG into the gun.
