Yes, keep it. Any brass you can acquire, keep it. Believe me, once shot, twice shot, even three times shot, keep it. Brass is the recyclable interval of a reloading checklist, eg
Projectile = 10¢
Powder = 3.5¢
Primer = .5¢
Casing (upfront) = 8-10¢
Casing (per reload) = 1¢
Price per unit = 23-25¢ per shot, technically. Each reloaded subsequently (due to kept brass) would be 13-15¢
Leadcast projectile = .5-1¢
Price per unit = 13-15¢ per shot. Each subsequently would be 3-5¢
Look into reloading and leadcasting. I would start with larger cartriges, like the 7.62x54mmR.

No, no bias right now. Glorious fucking Mosin ammo is easy to work with. No bullshit rim stuff, longer brass life, easy to clean, easy to prime for, projectiles are easy to acquire, powder? Eeehhh... and leadcasting for larger rounds is easier. Good place to get started.
>you can't reload surplus ammo, faggot.
No, you can't. Spend 14$ and buy some 174 grain PPU soft-tip 7.62x54mmR and reload the casing. If you reload, it'll be cheaper and healthier in the long run than surplus ammo.
>WRITEFAG, TL;DR
Save your brass, slowly acquire tools and info for reloading. Look into leadcasting.
