Keep the very coolest shit.

Sell the valuable guns for funds.

Give away the cheaper guns for free to the needy after they take a safety/education. The courses are free, paid for by the sold guns. If you can pass a brief safety test you can skip the course and get a free gun immediately.

And where the fuck you are storing them? Let's say a single handgun is about 0.025 m3. 10k guns is in this case 250 m3, and we talking about 100% space use (and very small guns). Now, standard 30ft container is about 52m3 You need 5 fucking containers, filled to the brim to keep this amount of guns, ffs

I'd start sticking them in random places around town. Behind a cereal box at a grocery store, under the window wiper of someone's car, in a public ash tray.
At some point I'd walk into a gas station, put the gun on the counter all threatening like I was going to rob them and then just turn around and walk out.
I'd put a bunch in a closed, airholed box marked 'free kittens' on a sidewalk.
I'd put them in people's mailboxes.
I'd sell some for cash, probably.
I'd put one in a cradle, put that on someone's doorstep, ring the doorbell and run away. It'd be all tucked in with a pacifier next to it.
I'm sure there's funnier stuff I could do but that's all I can think of right now.

The only thing I can think of is to find 50-100 ex-Marines (who saw active duty gun fights) and then arm them to the teeth, then cross over into mexico unseen via the desert in order to capture or kill a wanted spic drug lord for the reward money....

I honestly think it would be harder to find 100 ex military willing to go on a manhunt in mexico than it would be to find the spic drug lord.

I've never understood it myself. Selling all the confiscated guns could generate an enormous amount of revenue, maybe even enough to cover a large portion of ATF expenses.

My guess as to why we don't do it is that crybabies will politicize it and go "Hurr durr, you're putting guns back on the streets hurr!" You'd think that we'd do it anyway, with all the money to be made. I'll tell ya what: If I ever become Director, I'll see what I can do about it.

I think the actual reason they don't is that it then incentivizes police and feds to confiscate as many guns as possible just to make money. Look at what happens with civil asset forfeiture already.
