If I was de designer I'd have finished them off in a different way, to make them more aesthetically pleasing.

Also, I'm guessing what gains in thickness relative to a regular can it also loses in length achieving similar results, so I dont really mind about that.

I'd like to see future iterations of the concept. Supressed firearms are (at least for me) a must and see more use than non-supressed, so holding a supressor to a firearm "just" with some little threaded barrel seems a bit weak for me.

If I were ever gonna make a near-future sci-fi movie, I would make these standard issue for both cops and criminals. It seems like having the ability to shoot your pistol indoors without destroying your ears would be a no-brainer.

Now that is over ... I think those are pretty cool. I wonder how effective they are. They probably are a lot easier to handle. Got any tech specs and costs? Looks like a 9mm to me though. Attached is pic of .22LR Ruger with factory can.

Nah. Unfortunately, a suppressor's a suppressor.

I did learn something interesting at the range the other day, though. Apparently, if you take a barrel under 16" and pin the suppressor to it (as you would a flash hider on a 14.5"), and its total length is over 16", you only need the stamp for the suppressor and not for an SBR. I guess that was sorta obvious, but I still thought it was pretty cool.

Or, if you want a detachable suppressor and still less length than 16"+suppressor length without a SBR stamp, a shroud for the suppressor can be what's permanently attached.

At least on a centerfire rifle with jacketed ammunition cleaning is something you won't really have to worry about. Sealed cans are still more common than servicable.

Another advantage of a pinned suppressor to make OAL on a rifle is that to travel between state lines with a suppressor you only need your paperwork with you, if you wanted to travel with an SBR and a detachable suppressor you would still need to file a 5020 before transporting the SBR.

It would have to be at a low price point since you can't swap the suppressor to another platform. If your paying the equivalent of buying a pistol and suppressor plus paying the tax stamp, then what's the point of only being able to suppress just one gun
