Was there any specific reason Russia didn't just completely redo their designs for the T-50 instead of doing it similar to the Flankers? On a side note, does anyone have the jpg of the US soldier being suspicious of the Panther disguised as an M10.

How do you know it is similar to the Flankers? Under the shell, everything could be completely different.

If India refuses to sign the PakFA contract, then it will be dead as well. Russia has pumped the remainder of their cash into ICBM modernization, nuclear subs, and ground force modernization. They simply can't afford to bother with anything else.

There are two answers to the question, both of which are rather obvious. It's either:

a) The Flanker is a decent design, and so it's unnecessary to reinvent the wheel.

b) They're not related at all.

I mean, I like a good "slavs cannot into aerospace" thread too, but let's be honest, the guys at Sukhoi know what they're doing.

When it comes to Russian designs retards think everything exist in a 2-D plane and use one specific angle to prove that the entire design is the same, even thought it only works with that one specific angle, and once you look at the other angles it becomes clear that they're full of shit.

I don't know what this anon is smoking, it's pretty clear from the bottom and inlet views that the T-50 doesn't use SDI or S-Ducts at all... They do appear to use radar blockers ala superbug

Yeah, you can't LRIP fix a core design flaw. The difference in the F-35 is that the fixes are little things, like changing a hose type that made it nearly impossible to remove a panel, or software fixes.
