If a situation ever came to the US where people had the motivation to improvise and make technicals like in other places, what weapons would likely be put on them based on what is here now and could be modified?

We'd probably have more construction trucks rigged with shit, maybe garbage trucks too. But in the end Wed have the same types of technicals, maybe less Toyota s and more humvees/explorers/rams etc

Let's think about this. Unlike in Africa and the Middle East, there are few machine guns and rockets (I mean RPK, Lewis, M249, ect. not MAC11s), assuming that civilians have no access to the government's weapons. We certainly have enough pickup trucks and mechanics for a large army. But not much to mount except for some WWI era shit. At best we could do drive-bys in DIY-armored vehicles until we got a hold of heavy weaponry.
