Civilians fucking with their 1911s gave it a bad reputation. Not the military.

It's a damn fine gun and if you want more power you can shoot .45 Super or .460 Rowland.

From this perspective your opening "so if the 1911 is considered outdated and unreliable" doesn't make sense, because it never stopped being the standard-issue sidearm. It's not like all of the remaining 1911s suddenly broke or turned into flintlock pistols.

Agree that the 1911 shape and style is timeless. Even modern-ish 1911s like the MEU/SOCs still look awesome.

The colt m45a1 in op's pic though looks like assvomit. I've seen complaints about the tan color, but i think that's a red herring. The things that jump out at me are

1) Fuckhuge rectangular rail on the otherwise contoured front end, bulging into the smoothly circular trigger guard and slide stop
2) Long, solid trigger
3) Vomitex brand grips

Because its still a good pistol and running a 1911 is sex.
