Get a ruck, and go innawoods
Go on hikes for longer and longer distances until you can go really far without stopping (ten miles)
At this point you should have the cardio to run a mile
DO this!
Run a mile and do pushups intermittently throughout the day and during your workouts.
Go from 1 mile to 1.5 to 2 to 2.5 to 3 etc.
If you can run 3 miles without stopping you're in pretty good shape and you should feel pretty good about yourself and your shape.
You will feel energetic once you've done this, and with energy you will feel happiness again.
In the beginning it will be hard and you will dread your workouts, but after a while you'll be able to do a hard workout on autopilot because your body is strong
