What do I need to know about NYC gun laws, /k/? I realize that CC is out, and I'll have to leave my WASR at my parents house Fortunately, I've lived in DC for the past few years so most of my funs are AWB compliant.

Pic related, it's what I'm walking into.

TL;DR - Must move to NYC, how do I keep my guns?

Basically you can't. All must be compliant with the nation's strictest ban and the muh feelings discretion of the NYPD. You also must get a permit, register them, bring the guns into the NYPD office for inspection, and pay about 400 dollars. And you can't bring them basically anywhere. Oh, and the permit expires with a very high chance the police will conveniently lose your application to reapply for a license, after which point you will have the guns confiscated.

The above is for rifles only. Pistols have a different process entirely.

Other important details:

You must be 21 to own a gun. Period.
You need to suit paperwork to ever remove your guns from NYC legally.

Keep them in a storage locker out of New York state. You have a high probability of losing your guns if you try to comply, assuming you're old enough.

I'm in NYS, not in NYC but ive been dealing with the handgun permit BS myself. shit sucks.

The below instructions are for my county of Suffolk. I assume it's similar for others.

We had a women come across state who was CCing and went to the 9/11 museum which states outside no weapons allowed.

She told an officer and was arrested for firearms charges, she's currently awaiting trial.

you can only CC if your an ex police officer given a special licence that allows you to carry and even then it only has three slots and you can only carry said guys on those slots.
