is there a pistol that's between the sizes of the glock 17 and 19. I like both but they are just a little too big (the 17) and just a little too small (the 19) for it to be noticeably annoying, I was wondering if there was something between the two. Id prefer striker fired, but ill take DA//SA too

I don't understand why i keep seeing comments like "well glocks are butt ugly but they work i guess" all over arfcom, gun blogs, etc. The proportions and angles here look gorgeous to me. And i kind of like FDE colored frame

Just took another look and holy cow. It almost looks as if the 19 was the original and the 17 got awkwardly stretched out instead of proportionally bigger

A 19 versus a 26? Not really. I own both, sadly my 19 has a gen 2 frame(so no rail). I like them both, but the shorter handle does make shit harder on the 26. But you can get larger mags with added finger things to make it kinda like a 19 but with the shorter barrel.

You could glue on shit for rails or cut some in with a dremel, but fuck that IMO. I want a rail myself so I can clear the house with a flashlight on the pistol. But that shit is all preferences.

I suggest handling both, firing both. I like the g26 but the short handle takes some getting used to, and some people struggle with that.

Yeah, except no. It takes two seconds of googling to find out the M&P is smaller in every regard except height. Even then it's only .05'' bigger.

Here is a picture of both, I put the 26 on top of the 19 in one. Loaded the mag from the 19 into the 26. Drums for shits n giggles.

Best thing for you would be to try shooting both. I really do love 'em both. The 26 can use mags for any other glock 9mm variant, but some poeple get bit using those finger extensions. I don't but I place my fingers properly. The 19 holds 15, the 26 holds 10 by default - not including one in the chamber

So you can make a g26 into a psuedo g19. But there are no frame rails even on gen4 g26's so there is that. But you can cut a g19 frame down to g26 sizing.

Another thing to think about is that you can convert the .40's to 9's pretty easy apparently, but not vice versa. I think guys were just swapping barrels. So maybe look at the g27/23 and see if that is true. Never tried it myself and wouldn't do it for a primary self defense gun, but it can be nice when everyone panic buys the 9 and leave some 40 on the shelf (they did here at least)

5 that I can think of off the top of my head actually but only 2 matter:
>1. The swelled up part of the backstrap actually fits in the hand differently and may fit your hand better than the 19/23 frame. I have large hands and the "bulb" of the grip fits perfectly into the center of the palm. I shoot the gun extremely accurately and with a pinky extender get an amazingly stable platform.
>2. The handle is shorter. This means it will imprint less, damage your shirts less, damage your car seat less.
The other 3 that came to mind:

>4. The subcompact Glocks can use the magazines of their larger brethren but not vice versa. The same can be said for some holsters.

So, there you go. I could list the advantages of the 19 over the 26 but it's basically the same list in reverse, heavier to help with recoil, could fit your unique hand better, longer barrel gives a bit more velocity, more capacity held in handle etc...
