Get used to it friend, no real change is on the horizon. Say what you want about FDR, but in 1945 we ran a squeaky clean and somewhat competent government. Now it consists almost entirely of sociopaths that are incompetent and hopelessly corrupt in equal measure.

Drone strikes and air sorties have nothing to do with public support for a ground war. It's not the public's fault that the Pentagon is unwilling to take decisive action in Syria. Don't forget that Russian ground troops are only deployed in defending the existing airbases in Syria, not actively participating in the fighting as your post seems to suggest.
