I'm looking at a Century C93 for $650
I have it on layaway and I am going to shoot it, then put a down payment on it if it runs well.
Thoughts?

Buy a headspace gauge and make sure it's in the clear - from my short experience I had with one you want something between .010" and .016" (if I'm remembering the numbers correctly)

Besides that, they're aged designs - mine was significantly heavier than my AR and that was a bit of a buzzkill. They're a hoot to shoot though.

That sounds like a good plan. Sometimes Century does find someone who can put together a decent rifle.

You just use a set of leaf gauges. They're $5-10 from any self-respecting hardware store. The acceptable range according to the G3 Armorer's Manual is 0.004-0.020" (0.1-0.5mm), but that is for the G3; I don't know if it applies at all to the HK33.
