>>27718882>>27718752Yeah, the Marines M27 IAR kinda tried to kill 2 birds in 1 stone by being 2 MOA, and having a full auto selector switch H&K hoped to give marines an accurate squad level DMR capability, or pop in a drum mag and its a SAW but lighter and you can do MOUT with it.
USMC didnt want to spend money on the mags, claimed they had reliability issues, and only ordered 5,000 of them because the commandant at the time had a thing for beltfed weapons, and for some reason nobody wants to acknowledge that literally half the Corps SAWs are so old and re-re-re-re-tooled that they cant fire more than 10 rounds without jamming even after an obsessive cleaning. When they do fire theyre inaccurate as fuck. (Im talking even too inaccurate for supressive fire beyong 400m sometimes)
With normal 30 round mags the damned IAR's burn through a mag in about 4 seconds, so its not giving that suppression like it could with a drum mag, but with a 3.5x SDO and a bipod I think its the best rifle Ive ever been issuedsas far as just using it as an infantry rifle.
(Floated barrel, heavier buffer spring, bolt is way better made, and its gas piston instead of direct impingement)
