I have been seriously considering one myself. went and held one the other day and they are nice.
I have a glock though and it has aftermarket threaded SS barrel with tungsten guide rod and tritium night sights already so the only thing I would gain by switching to the FN would be two extra rounds in the mag, a bunch of external controls that I would need to train up on and a nicer trigger pull, none of which I need, I have trained with my glock for years. sure the FN shoots a bit better with the nicer trigger pull due to the DA/SA trigger but I currently cant justify spending 1000USD+ a few hundred more on optic just to have a slightly better but much more complicated version of the same gun.
The ability to put a holographic site on it is nice but honestly if I wanted that it would be cheaper to just but a new slide that is machined for one for my glock. There is much to be said about having no crazy levers to mess with on a pistol for the context a pistol is usually used in (a hurry, under duress)
the more guns I buy the more guns I want. guns are like crack man, shit it rough...
I will probably get a new CCW gun before a new combat pistol.
Long story short, cant go wrong with a good ol glock 21 and a threaded barrel. It will cost you a fraction of other guns and we all know glocks work well. Pretty sure they offer a threaded barrel version from the factory now, if not I recommend Wolf barrels, I have one and it is great.
