Loadout so far. Ordered a better holster, and strongly considering a battle belt. Getting more magazines for the empty pouches. Not pictured are some mechanix gloves, luminox, electric earmuffs. What should I add for a good SHTF setup? I know I need a water source and some form of medical kit, looking for more insight/ideas.

In your first aid kit

Small bottle of ibuprofen, benadryl and caffeine pills.

Ibuprofen for general aches and pains
Benadryl for some allergic reactions and if you can't sleep
Caffeine pills if you need to stay up

A knife, a good light

Streamlight Protac series, Surefire E2/P2/G2 whatever series etc. whether you want one on the gun or not is up to you I suppose.

A space for a canteen or nalgene bottle-- its nice to be able to pour water sometimes

Didn't think of the pills, I like the idea. I have a decent Ka bar but I am unsure of where/how to mount it. I have a VP9 w/tlr1 that the new holster is for. I have a fenix pd35 but I need a reasonable way to secure it.

Loses all of an inch of sight radius on sights which are rarely used. Gains clearer view with his primary sighting method.

Keep "damn I have a headache" stuff in one place and "jesus fuck my leg got ripped open by 5.56" stuff in another, very easily accessible place.

Consider one of those small backpacks that mounts directly to your PC. Make sure it has some way you access at least some stuff in it without having to take everything off. If not, get a bladder.

Ka bar is pretty large for most things, consider getting something smaller and tucking it somewhere. Don't worry too much about where, you probably aren't getting into a quick-time-event knife fight.

How's the SCAR-25 lower working for you?

I think I'll end up going with a bladder, I don't see any small packs being reachable on my back.
I like it a lot, no problems with it yet. Between the magnesium lower and the Pmags it weighs less than the stock rifle, and when I fully stock up on magazines it should end up paying for itself

what I would recommend you take a look at is:
food, fire, water, emergency communication, and navigation.
go outdoors with your kit adjust it and see what you can live with and without.

nobody knows how to equip your kit better than yourself.
