There's a particular dealer in my county who I was okay with, until he sold me a Mosin with a literal sewerpipe bore. $250 with a bubba'd scope and ammo, but my REAL problem was the bore having fucked rifling and literally being like what you find on a Google Search when you search "sewerpipe bore".
Long story short, /k/ told me I got screwed, and I took the rifle back to him after he told me on Facebook he'd refund me the cash long as I brought the ammo. Get there and he starts treating me like shit, telling me I should go to another dealer and interrogating me about the condition of the rifle. Starts talking about how young guys don't know shit about guns, and when I tell him a bunch of Mosin collectors (aka /k/) and an ex-Army-armorer friend told me to take it back, he talked about how they didn't know shit either. Inspects the bore, says it just needs a good cleaning, and I politely encourage him to try (I had spent an hour attempting to do so the night before, but you CAN'T just clean a sewerpipe bore that's rusted to fucking shit as he'd find out).
Tries to pull out cleaning rods to clean it in front of me, and doesn't even have enough rod space to fit down the barrel from the muzzle OR the breech, made it evident he'd never touched the bore. His friend apparently gave it to him on consignment and vouched for its condition, and THAT was way more important than the overwhelming evidence I provided that the rifle was a lemon.
After he got BTFO, he wrote me my check, I defused the situation and managed to end it all with a handshake, and I told him I'd come back to transfer something through him sometime. Fuck that noise, he treated me like garbage, didn't know his product (or if he did, was trying to offload defective shit on me, but I suspect it was ignorance), and argued with me all the way through when he INVITED me to come to his shop for a refund. Some fucking people, I swear.
