Hello /k/

Im looking to buy my next shottie, im looking for something semi auto.

Was looking at a mossberg 930 but the reviews keep telling me it has issues chambering even basic loads

I have a budget of around 1000 usd but dont mind goong to 1300 if it warrents the price.

The shotgun is also imported into the United States. However, BATFE import regulations mandate that the accompanying magazines hold no more than 5 rounds, and the folding stock (on applicable variants) be welded in the open position.

Sooo basically a 5 round limit?

If you don't want a VEPR, a Beretta 1301 Comp or Tactical are great guns. Super light and fire fast as hell. I'd lean towards the tactical because I think it comes by default with an 8 round tube, the comp is capped at 5 without buying a tube extender.

The stock has to be welded open yes, but you can still have box mags in 10 round capacity or even the drum mags. All that matters is as long as the imported arm is 922r compliant.

I dont mind the cap if its possible to get a tube extender...i know 5 may be ample for HD but at the range....well meh
Ill look into the barretta

Btw any decent beneli SAs? They userally have pretty decent features

Now that im looking at the 1301 tac i have a question? Is the foregrip fixed? Am i required to chamber that first round via the ejection port slide?

You have several options. You can either chamber the round by pulling back on the ejection port slide and dropping a round in or feeding a round directly into the tube and racking the action bolt back and chambering it. It essentially allows you to swap out a round if you want to change say from a buck round to a slug without it chambering a round from the tube. There's an action release button in front of the action that allows you to rechamber just whatever is inside the action. And yes the Forearm is fixed.

And I found out that all berettas 1301s come by default with the 5 round tubes. All the extension tubes have to purchased separately to comply with federal firearms laws. So Between the tac and the comp you're basically paying for a longer barrel with the comp versus a picatiny mounting rail preinstalled for the tac.
