Do you carry always, whenever given the chance? Or do you just carry when heading to a place that can be dangerous?

So, I learned that gun permit that I'm getting allows for a concealed carry. I however live in a country with hatred towards guns (probably due to being invaded by Germany in WW2), and in a peaceful neighbourhood. I am first in my family since WW2 to actually be getting a gun, and my family is bunch of crazies with irrational fear of funz. For example my mother says that she's afraid to stay alone in our cottage in the country in fear of somebody breaking in, and that she'd rather stay in city. When I asked about why won't she get a gun, she said that it's wrong to hurt another human being and that she'd rather pray not to have thieves invade her home.

Stupidity of this statement made me go cross-eyed for a moment, but I just decided to let it go. Anyways, this is how people see guns around here - only bad guys have them. If somebody would ever notice that I'm carrying, I am quite sure they'd call cops on me instantly.
